3. New sounds, what new sound irritates you the most. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
All the weapon sounds are bad now, but big lasers are the worst. It's either pouring water out of a straw with compressed air (for beams) or kind of a soggy wet tea towel flick-splat sound (for Pulse). Flat, insipid and dreary.

Can anyone on the Dev Team give an indication if the Mega Pulse sounds are being looked at? There are awful now, my kids called it "the wet tea towel flick gun" This is not a sound that evokes mass power and energy, it's flat and uninspiring.

Or at the very least, give us the sound files so we can over write this silly new ones. I've heard better laser gun sounds from an 8 bit 1980's game console. The Large Mega Pules are the most disappointing. Flat and weedy, like someone trying to...

The closest I can compare the new lasers sounds to the sound you got from 1980's movies like Flash Gordon or Blackhole. It may have sound good on a 1980's game console, but they are seriously silly now. What was wrong with the old sounds? Nothing.

Have to disagree. All the weapons sounds are awful and the explosions sound like dropping rocks in a metal bucket.

Dexters claim on this WH is based on some fairly poor assumptions. He and his corp have no claim here. Anyone thinking of buying this WH from will be wasting their money. Be advised.
